Can I make an online account now on the CIC?

We just sent out our application today. Can I sign up for an account now on the CIC website or do I have to wait to get the "Application Link" email first? Just a little confused about that one. Thanks!! (And does it matter if I use my email or the PAs? Can both sign up and attach an app in the future?)

You can create the account now but won’t be able to link until your application is entered in the system (after it has been checked for completeness)

Agreed. My wife opened her GCkey account even when there was no AOR1 nothing and she is not a Canadian yet.

Thank you so much! I made my account and will await confirmation to link the application! So excited and nervous at the same time! I hope we filled in and sent everything correctly!
