Can I courier passport to NDVO?

I received response from NDVO to send the passport as the Work Permit application was submitted online and not through VFS - does anyone know if the courier companies will accept passport to be mailed out to the New Delhi processing unit as I have heard that it is illegal to do that in India.

Please advise

If you are in India, then you can mail/courier your passport to ND, it is not illegal to send passports within India.
