I have received an email from them on March 3rd that they are sending our passports back in next 5 days, please see below:

I had asked NDVO to tentative time line for returning my stamped passport, and I have received this email from them:

Dear Sir / Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi.

This acknowledges your request for the return of your passport. It will be returned to you by registered mail at your designated mailing address in India, Nepal or Bhutan, leaving our office within the next five business days.

If you have not already provided a mailing address in India, Nepal or Bhutan, you must provide a mailing address in India, Nepal or Bhutan to which your passport can be returned by registered mail before we can act on your request.

Please note that Indian law does not permit passports to be sent into or out of India by mail or commercial courier.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Yes, you should. I asked my passport back after two months of submission as i needed it urgently. I gave my daughter's Delhi phone no. to NDVO and requested them to return my passport to her, at the earliest. I had written to them that i would resubmit it if and when required. They returned all our passports, duly stamped, to my daughter within a week of my request

Hi Thommo,

sent you PM, pls reply...tx very much

Hi Thommo,
i just read your post regarding your passport withdrawl request to New Delhi; wherein i just wanted to enquire about how did you actually requested for your passport?
i would also like to know whether does it make any difference on my application if i request for my passport and ensure to return it back within a week, as i need to travel urgently.
thanks..
