Can i apply for EE while my spouse CEC application in process

Hi,

Can i apply for Express entry while my spouse CEC application is in progress?
I received PNP nomination recently and my Spouse CEC application received on Oct 9th (Bank draft encashed on Dec 30th)

We are confused now should we wait for CEC apllication to complete? as the current timelines are increasingly badly and my PNP nomination expires in july.

Also, wondering if i will get an invite from EE for filling PR as my spouse CEC application is inprogress?

Please help me

You can create profile for EE, but probably your application would not be selected because you're included in another application which is in process.
But you may try. You will never know if don't try.
