Just a reminder that you would still need his/her medicals, PCC, and POF for two people (assuming no children and FSW applicant)

Why would he need POF for two people if non accompanying spouse, its ridiculous, I never saw this anywhere on CIC.
You dont even need POF from bank account of the spouse if s/he is coming with you, only the principal applicant. Of course, the funds should cover the requirements for two people.

I really dont understand, this is shocking to me. Oh DelPierrrooooo where are you!

"To calculate the size of your family you must include: yourself, your spouse or partner, your dependent children and your spouse’s dependent children"

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

Whether they accompany or not is completely irrelevant to the calculation of one's family size.

Any senior will tell you the same.

Thanks for this! In the same link the following is clearly mentioned.

You must be able to use this money to pay the costs of living for your family (even if they are not coming with you).

But it clearly says "To calculate the size of your family you must include: yourself, your spouse or partner, your dependent children and your spouse’s dependent children. This includes your spouse or dependent children who are permanent residents or Canadian citizens."

P.S EDITED - OK I get it now!

'

I'll be as clear as I can, you have to include your spouse in the calculation for POF whether she is accompanying or not.

Ask Stanlee, raj, jes, scylla, kryt0n, dan, heck e-mail avisad - they will tell you the same.

Otherwise, hire a lawyer.

Jesus Christ.

If they already have the money, why dont they just come along :D

Nevermind.

Do you have to get bank statements for all of them (who have bank accounts) or only the pricipal applicant's?

p.s.
When saying "POF" in previous posts I mean bank account statements as proof of funds. To clarify.

The account where you have the required funds is sufficient.

;D
Wolverine17, your LICO is based on your family ( excluding siblings and parents). The idea is that your dependents are your responsibility and even if they are not coming with you, you should have enough money to take care of them.

You have to have funds for two people on your bank account even if the spouse is not coming! If you have children then you have to count them too even if they are not coming.

But only your account bank statement is enough to prove this.

END

one can use the spouse's funds with a legal document that spouse allows the principal to utilize them for settling in Canada, or transfer money from spouse account and get a gift deed prepared

Yes..

It seems to be quite clear that pof doesn't change with accompanying dependents.

OP - if you are still unsatisfied, the most accurate method would be to decline the ita, change spouse to non-accompanying and reduce the proof of funds. You'll profile would become ineligible if you fall below the requirements in funds. Or your could create a dummy profile to check it out.
