Difficult to keep both PRs in the longer run. We need to stay 2 out of 5 years in Canada to keep the PR status.

You can certainly apply PR from any number of countries at the same time. There will be some financial and time investment though :) You may also not be able to KEEP PR status in multiple countries

Apply - YES
Keep - YES but a lot of travel will be required to manage both the PRs
Benefit - I m not sure on this. Everyone has a different case. Australia PR is easier to get (no cutoff and draws to worry) and can be used as a back up.

And yes, massive time and financially commitment is required for both the process.

That's very subjective. I figured Australia PR is a lot harder to get.

Certainly. Everyone has a different case. Do what seems right :-)

As far as I can tell, there is no equivalent to the canadavisa forum for australian PR which to be was one of the reasons I went for Canada :D

There is one that I know of. expatforum.com

Australian PR comes with one major benefit in that PRs can also live and work in NZ https://www.newzealandnow.govt.nz/why-choose-nz/compare-new-zealand/australia
