Hi all,

I recently became a Canadian citizen and my wife is a PR. She got her PR in 2021 and is not yet eligible to apply for her Canadian citizenship on her own.
Can I sponsor her so that she becomes a Canadian citizen as well?

Thank you for your inputs!
Adi

They still need to meet the citizenship requirements. You status has no bearing on theirs.

citizenship application is on the individual. You could sponsor a spouse to become PR. But once they are PRs, they need to fulfill the requirement to become citizens.

1. No, she has to put in the 3 years to apply.
