Calculation of days of absence - Departure & Arrival dates in/out Canada

I have a query on how exactly the days of absence are calculated or determined by CIC.

e.g. Date of departure from Canada 12 Aug 2015 and Date of Arrival in Canada August 17, 2015.

Which of the following answer is True:

A. 6 days absent from Canada (12 and 17 being included)

B. 5 Days absent (date of departure 12 included but date of arrival 17 excluded)

C. 4 Days absent (Both date of departure and arrival excluded)
