That makes sense. My question is: since we have 60 days to submit the application, can the additional two months of experience be counted there? I worked remotely for two months, and to be precise, I worked in Canada from January 2, 2025 to April 24, 2025. For Canadian work experience, should I list January–April, or is it acceptable to declare January–May and foreign work experience as May-June?
Break it up for the dates in Canada and outside Canada. Submit if you have a year of Canadian experience IN Canada.

Thanks @Naturgrl and @CanGoldDigger. I just want to double-check how you would represent this if you were in my position.

I worked in Canada from January 2, 2025 to April 24, 2025, and then was in my home country from April 25, 2025 to June 27, 2025. Since IRCC focuses primarily on months, I wanted to confirm how best to list this experience.

Option 1:
  1. Canadian experience: January 2025 – May 2025
  2. Foreign work experience: May 2025 – June 2025
  3. Canadian experience: June 2025 – Present

Option 2:
  1. Canadian experience: January 2025 – April 2025
  2. Foreign work experience: May 2025 – June 2025
  3. Canadian experience: June 2025 – Present

My main question is: since I worked for most of April, is it acceptable to list my first Canadian experience through May, or should it strictly end in April?

Additionally, does IRCC require 52 full working weeks in Canada, or would 50 working weeks in Canada plus 2 vacation weeks spent outside Canada also be acceptable?

Break it down by days worked since want to count 2 weeks of paid vacation or whatever option is applicable to you. Did you work in Canada in April or May 2025.

Thank you @Naturgrl and @CanGoldDigger. I’m planning to decline this ITA. Going forward, in my Express Entry profile, should I update the experience to reflect the split between Canadian and foreign work now, or keep it as is and only make that distinction after receiving my next ITA?

Also, in your opinion, is it safer to accept an ITA only after completing a full 52 weeks of Canadian work experience, or is it acceptable to accept an ITA at the 12-month mark and use the 60-day window to complete the remaining weeks before submitting the application? Would be great if you could link any sources which cite this. I couldn't find anything in the website which states that work experience is counted till the time you upload the documents and submit the application?

You can stick your initial plan "to wait and submit your application closer to the end of the 60-day deadline". The work experience is counted when you submit an application.
