Would someone be helpful for me to understand how to calculate work hours under CEC? This is my scenario

Employer 1: 2022 Sep 7 to 2023 Sep 29th (worked part time outside Canada from Oct 8th - Dec 1st)

Employer 2: 2024 June 24th to 2025 July 27th

As per my calculation until July 24th I have 104 weeks (excluding outside Canada work)

So the hours amount would be 104x30=3120

Would I be eligible to claim 2 years CEC experience on 24th July? My PGWP expires on 27th of July. When should I accept the ITA (IF I get that let's say in July hopefully) and submit PR application and then submit BGWP? Is it possible without a dummy extension?

With 2 years CEC experience 528 score, if I claim 1 year only it's down to 515

Any suggestion is helpful

Thanks

It's not possible to say based on the information you provided. Here's how you do the calculation properly.

- For each week you worked 30 hours or more, count this as 1
- For each week you worked fewer than 30 hours, add up the total number of hours and divide by 30
- Add the two numbers above together. If you have 104 or more, then you can claim 2 years of work experience.

hi, for all the weeks I have worked full time more than 37.5 hours. So the number 30 won't be an issue
but, IRCC calculates by week or can we consider days too? Which means if I worked 2 weeks + 3 extra days, do I need to disregard that 3 days?
I have total 733 days worked (including holidays and weekends of course), which would be 104 weeks+3 days
as per IRCC 52 week rule, we need only 728 days
I am just trying to figure out whether I am completing 2 years before the expiry

Can anyone help me with my case. I opened my profile and I had 511. On July 8, I got ITA with 536, it looks like it comes from my Canadian working experience jumping from 1 year to 2 year. My working experience is:
1 August 2023 - 27 December 2024: working part timer 10 hr/week
1 Nov 2023 - 15 Dec 2024: full timer 30 hr/week along with the above part time job
27 Dec 2024 - July 8: full timer 37.5 hr/week
I am eligible for 2 years of working experience yet? It looks like the system awarded me early. I asked a lot of IRCC agents, non of them could give me a specific answer.
Please help! Should I decline or accept the invitation.

Can anyone please advise, if this is how the calculation works or as per paystub??

Employer 1 (24th august to 7th nov 2023 with 40 hours per week),: 75 days = 10.71 weeks. 10.71*30 = 321 Hours
Employer 2 (27th May to 19th July 2024 with 35 hours per week, 53 Days = 7.57 weeks. 7.575*30 = 227 hours
Employer 3 (1st august 2024 to till date) with unpaid leaves from 1st Dec 2024 to 15th Dec 2024 with 37.5 hours per week, 580 Days less 15days of unpaid leaves i.e. 565 Days = 80.71 weeks. 8071*30 = 2421 Hours

Total hours 2969 ( I am short of 150 hours which i can complete in 60 days period). Shall I claim points for 2 years of work experience in Canada TODYA as we are expecting the draw.
Thanks in advance!

Hi All,

I am little confused on the hours calculations. Could someone clarify my below questions:

1. Do we need to satisfy both 365 days and 1560 hours conditions? Or either one of them?
2. I work for 40 hours every week. I do take work trips outside Canada. For example, I flew on Tuesday morning 7am, and returned back on Thursday 9pm.

For 365 days calculations-> Tuesday and Thursday are in Canada? Or Outside of Canada?

For hours calculation, can I still count 30 hours in Canada for this week? Mon-8, Tue-8, Wed-0, Thurs-8, Fri-8. Max 30.
Or Mon-8, Tue-0, Wed-0, Thurs-0, Fri-8. total 16 hours?

Which one is correct? I want to file the application today. So will appreciate if someone can kindly educate me? Do not want to kill my chances of the PR by providing incorrect details to IRCC.
