I finally got intouch with my MPs office, and not the actual MP but someone who works at her office. He said that because we are still within the processing time, the embassy will not give them any information on our progress and we shouldn't expect a response back. should i go to a different MP?

Well, I think you can only really ask your MP, since other ones do not represent you in Parliament. Like you, I also had the secretary respond to me. She contacted the embassy for me, but she didn't ask about my specific file, she just asked what was going on in terms of processing, given the strike and, at the time, the embassy closure. She was told by them that even if they embassy was closed, they were still working on visas. Hope that helps, or makes things a little clearer.

The other thing you can do is request your file notes. I never did that, but other people in this forum have, and if you look back a number of pages you might see how to go about doing that.

Hello guys, if the embassy hold your passport after interview does that means they will issue a visa? My wife attended interview on september 12 and they kept her passport and she was told she will here from them. Thanks in advance

Thnaks CairoCouple for your reply, yes they did not tell her yes she will have it but i also thought that if they won't issue a visa they wouldn't hold her passport. Another thing is that her medical has expired since January so i don't know what they would do.

. Hi brother the only safe way is to find someone who has a Visa card in sudan , so he can pay the fees for you and will print the recpiet for u. For me I payed my fees through this way.

I can find someone has a credit card in Sudan Can I use a credit card from Canada or any other country or it should be from Sudan.

If you have someone in Egypt, he can go directly to Citibank and deposit the RPRF amount on your behalf - but the receipt has to be on your name, and it has to be written exactly as you wrote it in your immigration application - he can then forward you the original receipt and you can then forward it to the embassy via DHL.

I have done it that way.

I can find someone in Cairo to make the deposit in my name, but after that does he/she need to go to the visa section in the embassy to give the them the bank’s receipt and take another one from the visa office, or directly send the recipe to me. In their web site they say “present the original receipt at the Visa Section of the Canadian Embassy in Cairo”. and they also say “A receipt will be issued for each payment received. Please keep the receipt as proof of payment.” What receipt they mean the bank’s ?? I am so confused. I hope u can help me to understand.

My wife contacted her MP office before 3 weeks, they told her there is no any reply from embassy !!

the embassy says the inbox is full , so they need a time to reply

anyway the MP told us you should wait until next update , end of November !!

Hi all and hope you have a good luck with Canadian immigration .
So i`m a PR , after landing - my wife & me - returned back to Saudi Arabia to finish our work there, EL7amdolellah God gives us our lovely baby sara, so we need to make a sponsorship immigration file for her , i need to ask some questions and i hope to responds it.
what`s the type of sponsor i need to my daughter ?
is it important to stay in Canada to open the sponsor file ?
if we traveled to Canada with our baby, can my wife take our baby for a vacation to Egypt during processing file ?
can we begin the sponsorship process and come back for a while to finalize our work duties?
when we will get the medicals for our baby ?
what`s the processing time for child sponsorship in Cairo VO ?

OK, I now checked the status of the file on the website and it changed right now to have the line "We started processing your file on September 18, 2013"
Does anyone know ho much time does it take in this processing??
And does that mean that the next move is asking for our passports?
