Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

Well, it is very logical to do it as in-Canada applicants are waiting for up to 30 months already and as they all have valid work permits, they are in the same situation as Canadian Experience Class applicants. And CEC processing time is 14 month now. But the thing is that CEC has 10k cap per year and FSW 55k.

I did not see information that anyone who applied after 26 June 2010 (when MI2 took place) under FSW1 or FSW2 received medical exams request or passport request, so definitively CPP-Ottawa is finishing MI1 applicants and a lot of cases from May and June 2010 were resolved already (in Oct-Nov 2012).

What will happen after they are done with 80% of MI1 applicants? Probably we will know about it during the January 2013. And it will be either transfer of in-Canada applicants under CEC or something similar. This is the only way that I see that they can get rid of 100k FSW backlog during 2013 having only 55k cap. If this happens all applicants who applied in July-Dec 2010 will get their medical requests during the very beginning of 2013 and will be resolved right away (without backlog I mean, as all processing of the application takes 4-7 months) (I guess till the middle of 2013).

@ those_who_complain: Don't complain, life is fair. Sometimes we get lucky (and apply under PNP), sometimes not. You have a right to come back to motherland anytime.

Do you really think getting a lawyer is the best thing you want to do at this time? Even at that, the lawyer's job would entail staying on the side of law and facts which is pretty straight forward in this case. Besides, you are already asking about costs suggesting you might not be prepared to dole out extra cash. And let me tell you my friend, sometimes lawyers have a way of compounding your case.

I would advise, instead of sending e-mails to CIC and just waiting, you go and get the PCC and do the medicals and attach an explanation of the circumstances leading to these delays and late receipt of their mail. It's safer that way, and any other follow up you may want to do becomes more meaningful.

FORGET LAWYERS AND ACT FAST AND SMARTLY TOO. Besides, contrary to popular myths, some visa officers are quite nice and understanding and they can tell genuine mistakes and delays/circumstances beyond one's control.

I aggree there is nothing a lawyer can do to bend the rules
But you can do more by doing your meds and police certificate
Send them a letter explaining that might work

Well! Today was the "due date" set on my GCMS notes. Nothing from Ottawa; however, I'll be sending them an email asking for an update next week. I did my medical exams a year ago; I'll just ask if they require new exams. Hopefully that refreshes their memory about my application. My man, ramcm31, what are your news? Well I just Got my GCMS cd in the mail
I got some news but no much benefit
File transferred to Ottawa July - 2012 ! Medicals recorded as received march 2012
Ottawa office has not done any enteries in the file
Surprisingly Ottawa sent an email to my representative with my file number added to CAips asking for the same documents sent to buffalo in early April and it is documented by buffalo in the CGMS April 012 but seemed buffalo dud not sent them with my file to Ottawa ???? Or Ottawa office making fun and wanted to appear as they working when file was requested for CAips ?? Who nows
Why all of this senseless delay
How much time it takes to have file reviewed
Hard working officer can do up to 8-10 files a day if they want finish up with us
But what we can do
Will carry on with hard work and hope for the better

I wrote to them back in July 04, and got a reply two months later (no progress, no action required from me). I just emailed them last Friday (Nov. 16, 2012), and I expect a reply in January. But I requested my GCMS notes on November 7, 2012, and I will hopefully have them by mid-December. Have you considered requesting your GCMS notes? Way more detailed and faster than emailing them.

Although by no means an expert in GCMS notes, I do not see anything out of the ordinary. To me, it seems that they cancelled the communication they were going to send you. Just to be sure, send them an email (I would not mention anything about my GCMS notes), telling them that the status in your ECAS is a little bit confusing, and you do not know if you were supposed to received anything. As long as you can, do not place the blame on yourself ("maybe your e-mail went to my spam folder", "maybe the letter got lost"). Phrase your email as they failed in sending you the letter, if anything.

Sometimes placing the blame on ourselves causes exactly that, that CIC places the blame on us.

this is good and probably helpful... but they have never answered any of my emails... the thing that I do, is to contact my MP and let them follow up on the case... it has been more effective and productive for me...

All other offices such as LA , newyork etc have remained unchanged at 16months.
