Why are bordering yourself with e-case? Even if you were able to log in, it still doesn't tell you anything, and if it does, it's completely far from what's actually going on with your file.

Good point!

Hi Guys,

I am getting this error when I try to log on to the check application status portal on the CIC website. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:

Please be sure the information you entered is correct and then try again.
This service is only available to clients with applications in process. We may have received your application but not begun processing it yet. The following link may help you determine if your application is being processed:
Application Processing Times
At this time, you may use this on-line service if you have:
sponsored a member of the family class;
applied for permanent residence from within or outside Canada;
applied for a permanent resident card (replacement or renewal);
applied for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship);
applied for Canadian citizenship for a person adopted by a Canadian citizen (on or after January 1, 1947);
applied for a citizenship certificate (proof of Canadian citizenship);
applied to renounce Canadian citizenship; or
applied to resume Canadian citizenship.

This is frustrating!

That means they are working on your file.....
it happened to me and they requested me to submit further document like Personal History...

get ready to send your Personal history since 21-01-2011. i.e since your application date..

It is better to send them now only...

I disagree from Syed. It just means that ECAS is not working properly ...

Inquiry001 - whats your timelines>?

Hello Syed,

where is you application currently> Ottawa?? Would you mind telling at what stage your application is?

I submitted my application june 2011 and got AOR in August 2011. The application was transferred to June 2012 after Buffalo office closure.

I am just trying to know if they are processing any application.

Thanks.

My application is also at Ottawa and transferred from Buffalo at the same time as yours...
you can check my timelines in my profile..left side.

till one week back my application status was "application received"
from past one week I am not able to access and yesterday they sent me a mail to send updated personal history since my application date....I sent the same and waiting for their reply...

I guess you will get a mail soon..as they are working on files that they received to Buffalo...

This is what I know about my application so far (Most of which where actually started in Buffalo):

- file transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa July 6, 2012
- Client eligibility has yet to be initiated
- RCMP criminality is now in process
- Security from outside of Canada is complete
- Ottawa anticipates completion of the file within 12 months
- Security from outside of Canada is complete

I am just wondering how they completed security outside Canada without ever submitting/requesting PC?

Inquiry001 - whats your timelines>?

Easy! Look under my id.

How could you compare the timelines of the different programs?

Right now Ottawa is processing as the first priority:
Quebec applications from April-May 2011 (at least 2 PPRs today)
then
CEC from 2012
then
Provincial nominees from 2011
then
Federal Skilled Worker applicants from April-May 2010 (or before April if additional documents were needed) as the least priority.

NO news for any FSW applicants from July 2010 till now. Relax. E-case will not show you anything new.

If you want to be among the priority line, sign a petition: http://www.petitions24.net/les_oublies_de_buffalo

I think they'll finalize the FSW apps from June 2010 onwards first, and the pre june 2010 after. CIC websites shows that the pre june 2010 will be finalised by fall 2014 and have given some explanation about how the labour market has changed blah blah blah and those are not priority it seems. Im thinking FSW after june 2010 will be finalised between summer 2013 and autumn 2013. Thats just my opinion though......the details can be interpreted in many different ways.

wow....21 months passed by still nothing...how convinient for a 6-12 months processing for FSW2!!!!supposably...wrong chose of VO...should had my PR 8 months ago or earlier! :'(

Tell me about it. I'm at 18 months....i'm guessing our applications will be done approx at the same time.
I'm frustrated with my lawyers who are now telling me, it was obvious that there was going to be a back log when Buffalo closed. They new it was closing a few months prior, and so i wish they had recommended me to ditch this application and go for CEC as i became eligible just over a year ago. I would have had my PR by now.
