When I heard about the the creation of code from the doctor's office I contacted before, I was scared.
Here your doctor is saying some sort of same thing, isn't she?
She told me about creation of UCI number...may be she wanted to told me about creation of barcodes like your doctor said.

She said she'll create an ID for me and if it doesn't match with the ID created by CIC... they'll charge $25.00 to merge it. They might be able to merge barcodes but creating a UCI should be illegal. So I don't know. I think I'll go to the other doctor.

I am just browsing through the CIC panel physician program and the forms the physicians have to fill contain IME # and UMI # ...may be that's what the doctor's office creates...not sure though...this is the link

I called a doctor's office few minutes ago. She told me that UCI number is the all that they need. When they would put UCI number on the system IME number will be popped up. This would happen with any UCI number.

But the sad part is that when they put my UCI number on the system it said this was not a valid UCI number. They asked me to ask CIC to put my UCI number on the emedical system so that they could do my physical. She is doubting that CIC might put wrong UCI number for me on the system by mistake.

She also told me I could go for upfront emedical too. In this case they will create UMI number (not IME) which would be a new number. But she recommended me not to go for a new number now but to ask CIC to upload my UCI number on the system.

Now just thinking..Should I ask CIC about that or wait?
