hey rossie,,,whats the meaning of pr valid for 10 months,,,
I don't think PR Visa is issued for such a long time i.e. 5 years. My passport is valid till 2014, my work permit is valid till 2013 and yet I got Single-Entry PR Visa valid for 10 months

I said "PR Visa" which stands for Permanent Resident Visa (Immigration Visa).

It means our (both mine and my wife's) PR visa was issued on September 20, 2011 and will expire on July 30, 2012. It's 10 months if you do the math. AM I CLEAR NOW???

I have a question.... Am a bit confused with ecas..when i log on it it say my application was rec last october 2010.... Where can i see that they have rec my medicals? I did my medical last june 16 ....then i got an email last sept 23, 2011 that my file was transfered to los angeles from buffalo.....does t
His mean that my medicals has been reviewed akready? What is bext to the transfer then? Thanks rosie

I hope you tracked your medical from DMP to Ottawa before. Sometimes, CIC updates your e-CAS with "Medicals have been received on son so date". Since your file got transferred to LA, good chances are that they have received your medical.

Now, your case will be handled by LA. Some "officer" will review your file and process. If he/she thinks everything okay and no additional documents required; you will be asked to submit your passport for immigration visa (PPR).

based on fedex..it was received by ottawa last june 23,2011. Then my file was transfered to LA last septemebr 22, 2011.

I did my medicals in May 2011, and apparenlty immigration has lost my medical results.. I have the tracking number, it states the date they reached Ottawa, but still I got a letter from immigration saying they need my medical to keep processing my application. I contacted them, will see what they have to say. Hopefully they have been misplaced somewhere and I dont have to do it again.

From your status info got to know that You have received the visa, CONGRATS!!!

Anyways I have a good news for you....with long wait ie after 2 months (on Sept 16th 2011) my cheque got encased by CIC Buffalo which we had submitted along with our forms and AINP certifcate

Now I want to know what's the next step will go on? I'm curious to know about timelines/duration of next steps....Appreciate your quick response.

Hey, I remember you. I'm doing good Masha-Allah.

Anu, you should really fill out your profile info on left so that people get idea about when you applied and how processing is getting done for your case. The next step is going to be receiving Acknowledgement Of Receipt (AOR) and/or Medical Request (MR). With AOR you will receive bunch of file numbers with which you will be able to access your e-CAS. AOR will probably come in email; but actual MR may come either in mail or email. With MR, you have to do medical test with any DMP near you and the DMP will forward your test result to Ottawa.

The time-line is really changing nowadays. People who applied in Jan-Feb (like me) got their AOR and MR after 6 months. People who applied later are getting these only after 4 months. So, it may be good for you.

No i did not change the jobs, they just wanted to clarify, because for the first 4 months , i was workin somewhere else as well, thats why they called.
