My ECAS shows "In Process"

I did not apply for GCMS notes

when did they start processing your file and how did you know ottawa has your file since june?

This is at the PPR stage, none of the reasons mentioned is applicable here. FBI checks and RCMP screening should already have been done prior to asking for passports. If passports are required they are required copies are not sufficient. If you applied for GCMS Notes, there is an option called Counterfoil which is the visa sticker that gets stamped on to the passport. If you belong to a country which needs visa to get into the country you need to send passports not the copies.

I did not recall anyone is required to send copies of passport to CIO along their application package after Dec 18, 2011, the date new application check list effective.

I did not recall anyone is required to send copies of passport to CIO along their application package after Dec 18, 2011, the date new application check list effective.

You are not required to send original passport if you are from a Visa Exempt Country.. that is for PPR!

Even though this isnt from Ottawa but first Feb 2011 applicants and now Jan 2011 applicants. It seems like 2011 applicants are getting PPR!!

Mine is in process, but it went in process when Buffalo sent it to get transferred. I think when files are reaching Ottawa and VO are looking at them they are putting IN PROCESS to them. They might be giving a bring forward date to them for a final review and hopefully PPR.

My file soft copy transferred on 09 May and paper file transferred on 16 May.
I received email by visa officer on 26 July , he asked me to send current location of one of family member. Date he gave me to send information latest by 26 August

It went IN PROCESS because of the document request. I think your next due date is August 26th and if you have provided the document requested you should hear something from them around September!

one more update:

April 2011 filed to Buffalo--> May 4 2012 file transferred to Seattle--> In Process in middle of June 2012 (due to sending email to VO, next day In process showed in ECAS)-->July 16 PPR.
