I have applied under FSW3 on early Mar 2010 (CIO) and got my file number from buffalo on Nov 2010 and my ecas change to in process (RBVO) on march 2011. Last night when I checked e-cas found that it changed to Interview and today got the letter from Buffalo for an interview. I am international student in Canada and need to get US visa to attend the interview. Does anyone know what will happen if I dont attend the interview?
Did anyone have the similar situation?

Hi,

Schedule applying for US visa ASAP. No interview results in rejection. Did they schedule a specific day for interview? may I know your interview day? You can postpone the Interview by request but that will cause long processing of your file.

Order the Caips note right away to have idea about the questions they might ask you.

Thanks for your reply. Yes they have scheduled an interview for late sep. How can I postpone my interview. I might be able to go there on mid Oct. because I already applied for US visa to attend a conference on mid oct. Do you think if I send an email to them and ask for postponing the interview, they respond me or not?
one more question, how long does it take to receive caips report?

Hi Hagh,

You can send VO a request for delaying the Interview, the will definitely respond you, but not sure to re-schedule exactly for Mid-Oct. For ordering Caips, it takes 6-8 weeks to get it. The caips includes the notes that officer put on your file.

The VO usually put interview on files that there are some gaps in application like as work experiences, background information, security questions, .... . You yourself might find the reason and prepare yourself for it. By chance what is your nationality and your major @ university?

Check US consulate Toronto also check US consulate Ottawa as well, Ottawa consulate has lower waiting time is lower compared to any other consulate in Canada. Toronto is the busiest. Order your CAIPS asap to guess the reasons for interview.

hagh, look for Ottawa or Montreal appointments much quicker than Toronto. I believe, You wouldn't need to defer your interview remember time is very critical in PR application. If buffalo reach its quota then your application will be delayed for a year.

Hi all, Today I visited my local MP's office with my friend who applied under FSW-3 more than 12 months ago. Gentleman in MP's office made a phone call to Buffalo office and was informed buffalo is trying to clear the backlog on priority basis and my friends can expect a MR with in 4 weeks if there is no outstanding issue related to his application.
