Good news finally! Bucharest VO asked for copy of my husband's passport along w police certificate from home country and another country where he studied. This was a week a go....yesterday they asked for his passport! This has been a long and exhausting some times nerve wracking experience but it's over. They said they will return his passport within 2 weeks or 25 days. Hopefully this is the beginning of good news for everyone waiting. It's been exactly one year for us. Good luck everyone!!!!!

From that time to present day it has been a loooong and frustrating wait.
Nov. 17,2017 they requested copy of my husbands passport and police clearance and few days later asked for his passport.
My only advice at this point is to ALWAYS stay in touch. Don't rely too much on ecas or gckey because they never update it accordingly. Do send emails once a week to just give them heads up that you're waiting for an update. That's all I did I would always ask for an update even if they never give me one

Yes I sent the application and it was sent to Bucharest same month. Between that time and now, the have requested tons of additional documents
