We are a couple and we are waiting for provincial nomination. We were thinking of applying for BOWP once we get nominated. However, the principle applicant does not have a valid work permit. The secondary applicant has a valid work permit, but BOWP is only limited to principle applicants. Does this mean neither of us can apply for BOWP? If so, is there any other way for us to stay in Canada legally? Thank you!

you cant apply for on your own even you are nominated. you are eligible once you complete R10 check which is first stage of PR application(AOR for Paper based). you can apply for closed work-permit with PNP certificate, but you employer has to pay compliance fee.

i hope u get nominated. It will be hard though without Work Permit or Job offer. For SINP u need Job Offer for all categories except OID. I am not sure about other provinces. But u answered your question, if u do not have work permit, u do not have status. Also, u do not have job. Why does a province need to back u up? Unless i misread something, u might get sad news. My answer might have a bit of bias towards SINP as I am most familiar with SINP out of all PNP programs.

Are u on visitor visa?

No, don't worry about my PNP. It's hard to know all provinces' PNP system.

I have question here! If we apply for close work permit with letter of support from AINP by paper application and then meanwhile we get our express entry ITA, and our closed work permit application is still waiting to be processed, so can we just cancel that close work permit application and apply open work permit with our Express Entry ITA? I am talking about applying closed work permit by paper application as l heard it takes 3 months to process and until then you will be on implied status with your open work permit. Thanks

Hey the processing time is 66 days.... i applied 1 august nd got 12 oct ...
