BOWP - March Applicants

Hey guys,

I need your advice since you evidently have all done this already. In the IMM5710E I am coming along the following question:

Check the appropriate box or boxes to indicate if you are applying for:

- A work permit with the same employer
- Restoration of your status as a worker
- An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
- Temporary Resident Permit

Now I am a bit puzzled since I am not certain which box to check. Shouldn't it give you the option to mark "Bridging Open Work Permit"?

I have marked the first option "A work permit with the same employer". Bridge work permit is always open....and option 1 is the closest applicable option out of these 4

Please write in your letter of explanation about what your are seeking - i.e. Bridge open work permit and attach all documents mentioned in the document checklist (IMM5556E)

they suspended my account for 24hrs cos i couldnt remember my password lol I'll be able to login tonight. It's frustrating cos they sometimes they don't tell you the truth. He said there's nothing on my app yet, when they make decision on ur app you'll receive a message. CIC email said my status is updated and i also got a message.

Thank you guys. I went with option 3. And now I don't even know whether it will be rejected or not. It's super weird. The Coming to Canada Wizard gave me the option to apply for a BOWP after I entered all my info and now I am reading that QSW applicants can't apply for a BOWP. But why would CIC give me that option online? Isn't that contradictory?!

Hi Zoey,

This happens to few people , but it really updates after some hours. for ex: in one case, applicant got mail at Sat 3:30 AM and the actually updated on Monday afternoon 3:30 PM. Hope you will get soon don't worry !!

I still cant believe it changed from March 7th to March 5th applicants :-X wth how is that even possible lol I must be mistaken.

What's going on at CIC? Processing time increased and they also not went back to process application on March 5? My PGWP expires beginning on July and I applied as soon as i was eligible (within the 4 months). With the way its going now i'll get my BOWP just right before my old permit expires. I hope people don't wait till the last minute to apply.
