BOWP - March Applicants

CIC just now updated processing times as on May 8th. It remains at 64 days for WP

Yeah, VOs gone on a very long weekend ............ data would suggest that as of today they should be processing applications received after 11 March.

Hi Guys,

I applied BOWP on Mar 11th , it is approved in May 11th and checked in online it says your application has been approved with validity date (31 - july-2015). My previous closed WP expiry date is 31 - July-2015. I received my BOWP hard copy today (15th May 2015) with Expiry date is 31 - july-2015.

I have more than 4 months validity in my old closed WP during submission of BOWP application submission. is this a problem ?

Please advise on next steps?

My closed WP Expiry date : 31-Jul-2015

BOWP applied : 11- Mar-2015 ( validity of closed WP more than 4 months when BOWP applied)

BOWP Exipry date provide by CIC : 31-Jul-2015.

Question:

1.why CIC provided BOWP exipry date same as my old Closed WP expiry date ?
2. I called to CIC call center agent , they didnt understand problem anyhow he is going to check with Processing officer but it will take 30 to 45 days to get response from Processing officer. What can I do now? Please advise ?
3. Is there any form to submit our explanation concerns letter about BOWP expiry date ?

MY PR- CEC applications details:

1.Application filled: 17-Jan-2014
2.AOR Received : 21-Feb-2014
3.Medicals received : 31-Jul-2014
4.Medicals done : 14-Aug-204
5.after getting marriage 4-Jul-2014 , informed CIC and Added spouse documents along with her Visitoe visa medicals, currently she is in canada : 18-sep-2014.
6.CIC asked Marriage questionarries : 15-Feb-2015
7.Marriage questionarries sent : 18-Feb-2015
8.CIC asked to reduce size and sent same doc : 30-Mar-2015
9.RPRF upfront for both mine and spouse :27-Feb-2015
9.CIC asked cost f recovery fee for spouse ( they didnt deduct from my form with CC details): 6-May-2015
10.Cost f recovery fee for spouse paid : 6-May-2015.

* PR application is Inprogress
** Waiting for passport request

I think the date is a mistake, someone else last week had the same issue.

It is absurd that it will take in excess of 45 days for a response, what are you meant to do in the meantime - work illegally?

I would suggest you get help from your local MP - they get responses quickly and this is extremely pressing and a great concern.

You can raise an "issue" - see message from CIC which they send me for a technical issue (which still has not been resolve after 4 months!!!).

Did you apply for visitor record for kids right with applying for BOWP? I was thinking to apply for it once i have Work Permit in place.
Can you please explain how did you apply for it?


when i was filling questionnaire, comming to Canada ,it will give you all necessary tools , and as well documents to successfully obtain BOWP, and as well Visitor records for kids..

I just saw your concern of wrong date. I have got the same problem but not like yours, I have got BOWP approved showing the date 05-05-2015 instead of 2016.
So I called CIC luckily guy who picked up the phone was helping he right a way send an e-mail to Alberta vergeville office who issued my BOWP to correct it and send me another hard copy. (as per CIC agent he wrote an e-mail).
So now I am waiting another hard copy with correct date. Hopefully I will get it in coming week.
I will suggest you call again CIC give another try every person is different. Also make sue your passport has at least one year validity. Otherwise whatever your passport has validity you will got approved for same time.

today i have received a msg for wife to pay an OPen permit holder fee of 100$ , paid it right now. my permit was approved on May 11...
