They applied for the BOWP on April 30.
Their PGWP expired on May 23.

skoul12's PGWP was valid at the time of applying for the BOWP.

You may get a useful response here, but as you have posted in a very long thread, completely unrelated to Closed Work Permits, you may want to consider posting your question in one of the other forums here (if you haven't done so already).

Try to use a good, descriptive topic/subject, e.g. 'What is the process to applying for a closed work permit (LMIA Exempt) at a border crossing?'

I'll join this group here. :)

Just applied for my BOWP (May 27th). Do you guys have any sort of progress tracker?

I'm an Oct CEC applicant, I received my AOR in Feb.

When applying for bowp, I don't see an option to attach my AOR for the online application. Do we need to submit it with the application?

There isn't much value in a BOWP tracker as they're such minor applications compared to PR applications and the eligibility is very simple.

You can use the CIC website to see how far your application is from being processed:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp

On last report, they were processing online applications received March 5.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue:

I applied online for a BOWP for myself and my wife on May 27 (yesterday). I had been advised by an immigration lawyer to pay the $100 per applicant Open Work Permit Holder fee ($200 total) before submitting the rest of my application online, and add the receipt to my supporting documents. This turned out to be questionable advice; the CIC website insisted on charging me again for the $200 for the Open Work Permit Holder fee in order to complete the submission process, not recognizing that I had already paid it. I could not figure out a way around this issue and since I really need the BOWP processed soon (my current work permit expires August 30), in the end I wound up paying $200 again just to get my application in process.

My question is: How do I go about getting CIC to refund the $200 overcharge? Thanks in advance for any insights.

Write a letter of explanation and attach the receipts. They should give you a refund without any further problems.

Me and spouse applied for BOWP on May 17th and just received our MR, our current permits expire July 7th - should we withdraw our BOWP application (thats $520 wasted if we get PR in time)

No don't withdraw, your PR could be delayed as mush as another several months

Looking at the processing times, you probably have about a month until you hear on your BOWP:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp

When your work permit expires whilst waiting for a BOWP, typically you will need to stop working, but you can remain in Canada under 'implied status'.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=188&t=17

Looks likely that your BOWP will be processing about the same time as your WP expires. You may get lucky and receive it prior to your WP expires, or you may have to take a few days off work.

Hi Guys.
I applied BOWP Feb.18.2015 by Paper, but I didn't get BOWP.
I'm working now and my current WP will be expire June.6. 2015.
I have a question.
After June.6(this week), can I keep to work without BOWP or do I have to stop working until I get BOWP?
