I just want to correct that we received the AOR 6 weeks after we submitted PR docs
Date PR submitted: May 10, 2012
AOR received: July 3, 2014
BWOP submitted: July 4, 2014
BWOP received: August 7, 2014 - August 6, 2015

We didnt have a problem applying together as a family, I, as the spouse and our three children ranging from the ages of 18 to 21 got their Bridging Open Work Permit but that was before the age of dependent children was changed from age 21 to 19 on August 1, 2014. My kids ages were locked in at the time of application, including with the PR application whivh was sent on May, 2014. After August 1, it is an entirely different ballgame. We received our BWOP 20 days after we applied ONLINE with the PR AOR File#

I think the only option is to apply for a study permit for your son. All you need to apply for a study permit is the Letter of Acceptance from his school of choice, usually you can get that after passing the entrance test and paying a registration fee of $200, enrollment later when he actually goes to school 3 subjects a semester is already a full time load, with the Letter of Acceptance and show money of at least $ 5000 in your banks, you can apply for a study permit for him. Since he needs LMIA to apply for the work permit, that is a longer process. He should apply for the study permit online before his Work permit expires to get implied status. The reason he was turned down was that you applied for BWOP after August 1, 2014 when the age of dependent children was lowered to 19 and he is already 22 years old.

^ Wait, your kids got BOWPs too? Are you sure or did they qualify for open work permits under some other category?

Does anyone know that if a person who filed a PR application under a PNP, and applies for the BOWP-whether the BOWP will specify on the document that he/she can work only in that specific province? Does anyone have their experience to share?

we submitted the work permit on 12 september but till now no movement. I am not sure of they are processing
the work permits at all in the first place.

Any move on this please notify in the forum.

Thanks

Yes, it says exactly this in the manual (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp) under heading "Employment Location".

No update. I have applied on 13th September and received on 15th September.

Really, very slow process of CIC.

I have just called CIC call center to find out how long it will take for BOWP.
An agent said they are processing Sep. 3rd applications..

The same answer with that before 1 week, seems they have not worked during last 1 week..
