BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

I applied for the BOWP online on July 16th 2013 and still haven't heard anything back from them

I am trying to upload my IMM5710 form for BOWP online but it keeps giving me the this message:


Your answer is incomplete. Provide the necessary information below to continue.

To apply for a temporary resident permit, please complete the application on paper and submit it to a CIC office. When applying online, please ensure that the checkbox titled "initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit" is not checked on the application form.

Please suggest me what to do!

if the processing time is 30 days then you should have heard from them by now.... did you apply online?

Hi there,
I have read many pages (but not all…) of this very long and interesting topic. I would like to ask a question to the experts! First here is my situation:
I am in Canada, working with a closed WP that will expire on Feb 17th, 2014. My wife is also here, working with an OWP that will also expire on Feb 17th 2014 (tied to mine).
We have applied for PR under CEC, got the AOR on March 3rd, 2013. Nothing new since then.
My questions:
- Could we both apply for BOWP?
- Should we apply around Oct 17th ( i.e. 4 months before our WP will expire)?
- Will we need some employment offers of some kind? I am asking this because I am not sure our respective employers will give us new offers 4 months in advance.

Yes, you can apply 4 months before your current WP expires. You don't need any employment information as the BOWP
is an open work permit, hence not bound to an employer.

Got another question for you guys:

Im gonna send my CEC application early september this year. Expecting AOR in late october or early november.
My current WP is expiring end of march 2014, so I can apply for BOWP like end of november.
Works out pretty good this timeline. Problem is my passport expires in june 2014.
So how long will my BOWP, if approved, be valid for? Any idea? Will it be valid
until CIC makes a decision on my PR application like its supposed to be, or only until my passport expires?
I can only extend my passport 3 months before it expires, thatd be march 2014.
