CIC agent confirmed that even though my UCI is different in BOPW,it won't effect anything, in my PR application they will merge both UCI's however I have to use my previous UCI as identification number.....

I got my BOWP hardcopy yesterday October 21st.

I submitted online on September 10th (got email approval on October 17th)

Total days: 41

p.s.: My UCI (client) number stayed the same...all other numbers changed.

Most applicants are choosing 'new employer', as it does not matter since you're applying
for an open work permit, that is not bound to any employer.

I think I chose "same employer", which is annoying because these are taking a lot longer to process, but apparently it does not really matter which one you choose.

Most of these questions are answered in the instruction guide.

My work permit(LMO) is expiring in last week of Feb 2014.
my stay in Canada will be 1 year by 19th Dec 2013.
I don't have T4 yet, as my pay cycle started in Jan 2013.
I've IELTS exam on Dec 7th.

By the time I get T4 and IELTS score, it will be somewhere in Jan 2014, I will be able to submit my PR application.
Will there be any chance of getting AOR and will I be able to get BOWP before my current WP expiry(28th Feb 2014)

Realistically, your AOR will not arrive before your current WP expires.

For argument's sake let's say your CEC application is ready - i.e. you have reached your 12 months' qualifying work experience, you gather all your documents, etc - and they receive it at CIO-Sydney at the end of January 2014. You would likely get your AOR sometime at the start of April 2014 (given current timelines of about 62 days).

Meanwhile you want to apply for a BOWP before your work permit expires on February 28. Ideally, you want to have received your AOR before applying for BOWP, but in this case the AOR will arrive about five weeks later.

Five weeks is longer than BOWP online applications currently take to process, but not paper applications (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp). So in this scenario, your best bet would be to apply by post, and hope that by the time they process your application, the AOR was sent.

I got quotes ranging between 1500-3000$CDN. Plus application fees, medical fee, language test and rprf fees.

It really depends on the lawyer/consultant. Mine cost around 6k.
