The processing time for the work permit has not been updated this week yet. Usually there is a new date every week till now.

As per my observation, they update it every Friday. Check it in after noon or evening today.

So I just got a response today... It was declined :( I will have more info in the explanation letter they are going to mail but I'm assuming it is because I have more than 4 months left on my WP...

I know a few people have received it even though they do not belong to the 4 months rule, thought I'd try my luck anyway.

If this has happened to someone else, did you reapply?

I'm sorry to hear - what were your reasons for applying and did you include a cover letter?

I applied to have better chances to change jobs (considering the current delays to obtain a WP I dont know a lot of employers who would hold a position for so long). Plus my job is incredibly stressful and is just getting worse and worse so I was hoping for a BOWP in order to facilitate a potential job transition.I did in fact include a cover letter highlighting the fact that my current job is not related to my studies and I would like to take advantage of the BOWP to look for something in my field.

What kills me is that a friend of mine had a very similar cover letter and has received his BOWP even though his WP was valid until end of next year:(

I feel bad for you! it all depends on VO..which is quite weired....so would say it depends on luck..........
These VO people have our future/career everything in their hands.......strange aye!

you better try once again when you are reaching close to 4 months time...

this is really weird coz my work permit was valid till dec 2014 and i still got my BOWP approved and received it in the mail today .I think it was just your hard luck . You can try to apply again may be have a different explanation letter this time.

That's probably your answer then. Being granted the BOWP with more than four months remaining will depend on the VO accepting your extenuating circumstances. I'm afraid they probably won't be convinced by the fact that you don't like your job.

Hi everyone

We are FSW applicants. My husband is the principal applicant on our application and I am the dependent. My husband has a closed work permit, and I have a visitor record now. I know my husband can apply a bridging open work permit. My question is which type work permit can I apply between Bridging Open Work Permit and Open Work Permit?

Thanks.

Regards

You should apply for a spouse open work permit along with your husband's BOWP application. See OB485A for eligibility and rules in detail:

Hi everyone
I am applying BOWP online.I logged in MyCIC account, and saw "Step 3: Upload your documents •You do not need to sign your application form by hand if you submit your application form online. You will be asked to provide a digital signature once you are ready to transmit your documents to CIC."
But I can not make a digital signature. How should I do? Can I sign my application form by hand and scan to PDF, then submit my application form online?

Thank you very much!

It's not the traditional digital signature, you just type your name in a box
