BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

I have important question to ask:

If I own BOWP and My PR application gets rejected due to some reason, does my BOWP still valid till it's end date or it becomes void/invalid immediately...

I would happy if anyone provide some proof in form of CIC links if any...

Was it a single application for BOWP? Or did you applied BOWP for your spouse as well?

Did anyone recently receive BOWP from paper based application? How long does it takes for processing? Is it faster then regular WP application?
Looking at average Processing times (53 days) I should receive in couple of days, but based on "Working on applications received on" (December 1, 2013) I should wait a week longer. Which one is valid?

Hi Seniors,

I applied for BOWP (for me and my wife) on 21 January and today evening the status changed to "Approved" .

I kinda tried looking for answer for couple of questions on this forum but could not find correct answers.

1. My present work permit is valid till 12 March 2014. Since the new one is approved today, when should I inform my employer that I'm on new work permit.

2. What would be the date of start of the new work permit? I read and know that for some the start date of new permit was after the end date of existing permit and for others it was date of approval? Does CIC apply any logic behind giving start date on new work permit?

3.I read in this forum that I need to renew expiry date of my SIN after I receive the new permit. Can someone confirm?

1. If you plan to stay with the same employer, you will have to let him know when your WP will expire. Or when he asks you, whichever comes first. They usually need a copy to prove you work legally, so no rush here.
2. Date of approval
3. Check your current expiry date on SIN. That's when you have to renew it. There is no point to change it before- the number stays the same, in system it is valid? in your case even employer stays the same

Doesn't matter what option you choose, as long as you checked that you're applying for an open work permit.
And mentioned your PR application and / or AOR you should be fine.
A closed WP is only issued if a positive LMO has been issued to the applicant.

Yes, it happened with me.

Different UCI Number on second work-permit, but not on BOWP.

I have called cic and verified if there will be any issue in future, they said it's totally fine and just use the new UCI for all your future applications.
