Sounds like your case has been in process a long time!

we have now been in waiting over a year! We applied in August 2011. My husband is Ecuadorian. Hopefully our wait is soon over, as they have requested the passport. I guess now, we just have to see what happens next!

Did you guys have to have an interview or was it waived?

So far nothing has been mentioned of having to have an interview.

Hi everybody,
I am sponsoring my Colombian husband as well. We got my sponsorship approved in August 2012, just wondering what is the next step? (besides waiting for the next 16 months :) ). Is there any way to track the process in Bogota, how we were able to track the sponsorship progress?

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

You can still track things on eCas, but it appears to take 5-6 months just to get an AOR from Bogota, so you won't see any changes on your eCas soon. My app has been in Bogota for 3 months now and we haven't heard anything from them yet.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Let's hope some of us hear something from the VO this week!

This wait is KILLING me!!!! Checking ecas daily, but no updates. Hope you are all in good spirits and that your waits are soon over! ;)

Yes the waiting is even more difficult than Stage 1!

Suggestions anyone??? We haven't recieved anything from Bogota yet, but we want to proceed with the police certificate, as per the instructions on the website, so that we don't encounter further delays. Do you think this is OK, or should we wait until we get the different file number from the VO? I was thinking that if we proceed, we would use the file number Fxxxxxxxxxxx from stage 1, even though apparently Visa Offices issue a different file number that starts with Bxxxxxxx. Did anyone else get their police certificate BEFORE receiving a file number from Bogota??

Thanks!

I should quantify this...did anyone from COLOMBIA get their police certificate before receiving a new file number from Bogota, as the process to get this from Ecuador is much different...and faster!

Hi, long time lurker waiting patiently for the spousal visa for my wife. Just to let people know we applied November 24, 2011. The passport was requested July 11, 2012, so hopefully not long now.

It seems like 3 months is now the "standard" wait time after the passport has been requested?

I haven't seen enough data from Bogota to know if 3 months is "standard" to get your passport back. That seems like a long time. I think it is more dependent on which visa officer if processing the file, but who knows! But if you get your passport back this months, that makes about 10 months total processing time. That's pretty good for Bogota!

Hopefully it will be next month - making 11 months in total. We originally "expected" February next year and were being very patient, but now the passport has been requested all patience has gone. My wife is getting concerned that the passport has been lost by the embassy.

Did you send your passport by courier so that you'd have a tracking number???

Yes thanks. We were told the passport had arrived.

Are you applying from Colombia or Ecuador? And, did you send in your police checks with the app or wait until you received instructions from Bogota?
