Birth Certificate Affidavit

I dont have a birth certificate and I am sending my high school passing certificate which have my father's name and my date of birth as proof.
Do I need to submit an affidavit too or I can just mention this in a cover letter.
Seniors please suggest.

High school certificate with your's and your Father's FULL NAME, DOB and Place of Birth is Good in lieu of Birth Certificate. Write a covering letter for the same. Hope this helps.

Place of birth is not mentioned in that, is that can be a problem?

Should be fine. I just checked mine, and it doesnt have place either and CIC has accepted my application.

Thanks, please let me know if you have submitted any affidavit or just a cover letter on plain paper for birth certicate situation.
