Bill C-6: Senate stage

I am watching this endless process of Bill C6 and just have a question, is there any law or directive how many amendments Senators can make ? can they keep rising and proposing amendments as many times as they want ? is there any limitation ? if not they can keep doing this for who knows how many times .

Cons would call it "democracy", I would call it "abuse of democracy".

But regarding the today's events, that is Linda proposing silly, out of order amendments, I think that cons are desperately firing last bullets.

There is the nuclear option that means time allocation, bascially HoC says you oughta give an answer by this date, when the date is up they have to vote, no more debates, no more amendments
 
Guys - I just twitted Se. From (@bonifac20366053) asking her to just vote against the damn bill or stop playing with people's lives. Off course I left out the "damn", but maybe I should not have. We spend a bunch of time complaining here folks - I would urge that we all, very respectfully, let these conservatives that we have had it with their shenanigans. Twit! Twit! Twit. Please re-tweet my message - and while you are at it, please include other senators.

No that means Speaker will have his ruling later! Means more delay in the answer if the amendment made by Sen Frum is out of order or not! In this case we want the Speaker to call the amendment out of order so we can move on with the Bill!
 
What I am saying to the Senator is that - if you are against a bill, vote against it. But don't play games. All these amendments will not change any conservative vote. If you think the bill is so flawed, why amend it? You let is come to voting and vote against it. These delaying tactics show that they (cons) know the votes to pass it are there

Just means discussion is finished for the day.
 
There will be a vote in early May. May 3rd if we are lucky. A little later if the Cons are successful in more delaying tactics. Nothing new.
No point in losing sleep. Bill will pass senate sometime in May. HoC in May/June. It will become law. Then implemented end of this year. Summer is unlikely.
 
Democracy :))) I think they have wrong understanding of Democracy:) there was a commite Session and they could present any amendment they wanted , usually in all countries this is how it is done. another issue is that Canada is basically growing on Immigration and very many people watch this process and I am sure no one will vote for them in the future. we can wait another 1 or 2 years but we will have the vote rights sooner or later.
 
Bill will probably be applied on Canada Day anyway, so that gives them May and part of June to deliberate and pass the correct Bill
