Here is what IRCC tweeted

International students: we’re announcing new measures to help you start a new program online from outside Canada. THREAD https://t.co/jNIaNSlnQA

You can now include the time you apply for a study permit, rather than when you were approved for one, towards a future post-graduation work permit. Students must eventually be approved for a study permit and complete more than 50% of their program in .

We’re also providing priority processing for students who have submitted a complete study permit application.

In addition, we’re approving study permit applicants in 2 stages: eligibility and admissibility.

If you pass the eligibility stage (showing that you have been accepted at a learning institution, have the available funds, etc.) you will be notified of a 1st stage approval.

Students receive final approval once they meet all admissibility requirements, including submitting necessary documents such as biometrics, an immigration medical exam and a police certificate.

Does that mean all students who have applied for their complete permits will be approved in principle?

Only thing they will check is offer letter from university and funds? No more reasons like We don't think you will return or ties to home country?
Later they will only check if you are a criminal etc?

I have the same doubt. That is what is mentioned I guess. Just so that they process the applications faster for the fall intake

The 50% of completion of the course in Canada is still concerning. What if students can't travel at the time due to the coronavirus and have to do more than 50%?
no as students who got visa before 18march are travelling we will also be allowed maybe in january but they will
