Recently I was at an Immigration workshop, put on by the local New Canadian Centre.
The presenter said that Canadian Immigration, has a target of 240,000 - 265,000 new immigrants per year. The actual number of approved cases for 2008 was 247,232.
The presenter then went on to say that priority is given to different Immigration classes.
I originally hoped to submit my application for PR last fall after getting married (permanently) and moving here (temporarily until PR status was given, LOL). Little did I know then I would be waiting 6 months just for the required FBI report that was once rejected because they could not read the fingerprints....
Does anyone know if there is a best time of the year to submit your PR?
In other-words (say) the Canadian Immigration targets 65,000 PR applications under Family Class (out of approximately 250,000 total new immigrants). Does any one know if that target number is ever met for the year, and new applicants are put on hold until a set time?
