Hello All,

I was about to apply for PR but has been stopped by a friend of mine.

I am working in US on a H1 visa.

Question: Can I work independently in US Once I get PR (without H1 visa) or I need to wait till I get Canada citizenship.

Your suggestion will really help me making my decision.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

Yes, you can continue to work in the U.S. once you get your Canadian PR.

However .. if you don't spend 2 yrs of every 5 yrs in Canada, you will lose your Canadian PR.

You still need US VISA to enter US and a valid H1B work permit to work in US even after you get your canadian PR. After you receive your Canadian PR you can continue working in US if you have valid H1B but to retain your PR you should meet 2 out-of 5 years stay in Canada criteria.
