Is the work experience gained in Canada valid if I was a full-time student during that time?

I would like to apply for BC PNP under the EEBC - International Graduate stream. I have 12 months of related work experience. The thing is that I gained that work experience while studying full-time in Canada on a valid study permit that allowed me to work part-time off-campus.

I am not sure if I should declare that period of employment in my profile.

The program guide only says ... "For the purposes of assessing your work experience in Canada, the BC PNP will only consider work experience that was obtained while you were legally authorized to work. You must also meet other category-specific work experience requirements."

In this regard, I was legally authorized to work on a valid study permit. Thus, my work experience is valid. Am I right?

Please advise.

You can claim points for work experience you gained while you were working off campus on study permit however you can’t claim any points for part time work.

EEBC requires OP to be eligible for either the FSWP or CEC.

Work experience gained while a student in Canada can count toward the minimum requirements of the FSWP, but it would have to be two continuous years of part-time work, which OP seems not to have.

Work experience gained while a student in Canada cannot be counted toward the CEC eligibility requirements.

Meanwhile, from another section of the BCPNP guide: "Employment that is part of a program of study (such as co-op) or obtained using a Study Permit or Off-Campus Work Permit does not qualify towards your work experience."
