Hi Everyone,

I just got a job offer from a BC employer for a job of Janitor(NOC 6733) in a hotel. I already have a 1 Year 4 Months of experience as a Housekeeping Room Attendant(NOC 6731).
I am planning to apply for BC PnP in entry level and semi skilled stream. My Query is that is it possible to get 10 extra points for 1 year of direclty related work experience for my experience as a room attendant towards my bc pnp application as these two jobs fall in same NOC group i.e. cleaning.
Please suggest

Thanks in Advance

On the BC PnP guide, its says that

"For the registration process, the BC PNP defines directly related work experience as full-time or part-
time paid employment that is classified under the same NOC code as the B.C. job offer that you have
accepted. Experience in a related occupation at a NOC skill level equal to or greater than the NOC
code of the B.C. job offer may also be included if you can satisfactorily demonstrate how this work
experience is directly related to the job duties outlined in the B.C. job offer. This information will be
required at the time of application. Experience in a lower skill level NOC will not be considered as
directly related"

So, the experience that i have is a greater NOC level than my job offer.
Do you think it will not be included?

I read it again and it says "NOC level equal to" or greater.

"Experience in a related occupation at a NOC skill level equal to or greater than the NOC
code of the B.C. job offer may also be included if you can satisfactorily demonstrate how this work
experience is directly related to the job duties outlined in the B.C. job offer."

is it still possible to get points for my experince?

Seems to me that if you can do the above then you might.

on the NOC website it says the job duties as follows:

For Light Duty Cleaner -
"Light duty cleaners clean lobbies, hallways, offices and rooms of hotels, motels, resorts, hospitals, schools, office buildings and private residences. They are employed by hotels, motels, resorts, recreational facilities, hospitals and other institutions, building management companies, cleaning service companies and private individuals."

and for Janitor-
"Janitors, caretakers and building superintendents clean and maintain the interior and exterior of commercial, institutional and residential buildings and their surrounding grounds. Building superintendents employed in large establishments are responsible for the operation of the establishment and may also supervise other workers. They are employed by office and apartment building management companies, condominium corporations, educational institutions, health care facilities, recreational and shopping facilities, religious, industrial and other establishments."

do you think the job duties are related to each other??

Hi Gurus, I would like to ask for a friend. She gets an employer in BC and ready to give an offer to her but asking me about these recruitment efforts. How can she or her employer get around with the Recruitment Effort requirements? She basically wants to apply directly to EEBC PNP from Malaysia.

Basically she gets the job thru "internal recommendations from here previous boss who move to this new company as they were colleague for a very long time.

What do you think?
I think the job duties are pretty similar. So BC PNP should not be having any problem to consider my housekeeping experience as directly related toward my new job as a janitor. What do you think?
