Well if you applied in 2014 but don't get approved till 2015. It makes sense that part of their quota for this year was filled by applicants from 2013. At least 350 but by the looks of it over 1000.

I was thinking at this possibility and, honestly speaking, I find the answer that I received at least deviant. In a second thought I realize that it seems to be more a justification answer than a real answer to my question..
From here 2 considerations: if the growth ratio will remain the same in January the processing time will reach,easily, 12 months.
The second idea is that it seems that they have to justify themselves for their work... If I want to give correct information to my "customer" I would not say "I reached quota 4150 applications" but I would say "Due to the large amount of applications received we put all our efforts to process as many applications as possible. For the year 2014 we had elaborated (i.e.) the first 3500 applications received".
In the answer that I received they underlined that they had processed 4150 applications, but they did not give any quantitative or qualitative information about my application..
To be clear, I think that they are facing a very difficult moment due to the increased number of applications submitted but, considering my situation as migrant, I would like to have a clear answer (or at least a forecast) about my application's timeline..

Just to update..

Today I wrote to BCPNP asking info about my application.
I have a number around 3800 and I asked if my application has been processed. this is the answer:

"Hello,

A decision has not yet been made on your application. Please be advised that B.C was allocated a total of 4,150 PNP nominations for the 2014 calendar year by Citizenship & Immigration Canada. The B.C. PNP has now met this target. We will continue to process applications in 2014, and applicants approved during the remainder of the year will have their nominations confirmed in January 2015.


BC Provincial Nominee Program"

now... the situation is, at least, strange... why if my number is below 4150 my application has not been processed?

any idea from you guys?

Thanks for sharing your update. This is strange that they are not telling people if they have been approved until next year. Not understanding that process. I just hope things are not going to be delayed. By saying they are continuing to process applications it makes me wonder if they mean process new applications that are received or ones beyond 4150. So many questions. Fingers crossed for everyone.

I think what it means is that BC PNP was allotted 4150 nominees from the federal government for 2014. And they got more applications than that. It was probably the same thing last year, which means that they started the year 2014 with approving a lot of people from 2013, that's how your application got pushed to 2015 even though you have a number below 4150. So they start every year with a backlog since there are more people applying every year than the number of approvals they are allowed to give.

So, what additional documents did they ask you to provide to PNP office then? Also have you been visited by some case officers in your workplace? Did they phone you for more documents? Any other questions asked?

So to understand this better the numbering system "resets" Jan 1st every year? so say you apply Jan 1st your would be number 15-0001 correct?

SO lets say the last AOR for 2014 is 14-7000 and lets just say they had 400 carry over applications from 2013 that means file 14-3750 would be the last possible approval for 2014.

Based on that info it would mean 3250 applications from 2014 would carry over to 2015 meaning that only 900 positions would be available for 2015 applicants and say 7000 people apply in 2015 then 6100 carry into 2016 meaning NO applications in 2016 will even be looked at for 1.5-2 years..... my point is something has to give surely.
