Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,

I do realize that since I am sponsoring my spouse I do not need to provide/meet the minimum income requirements. Other then the letter of employment has anyone submitted their or their partners financial bank statements.....

I sort of have a "not required so don't submit" attitude on this issue.

Has anyone done any different?

Thanks

Right. People use this as a proof of relationship but no need to prove funds. You are including proof of employment and salary so there's really no need.

Still won't matter. CIC is interested in the genuineness of your relationship, not the size of your bank account.

SamN4: We included bank statements in our application, but only for proof of relationship and proof of our having the same address before we got married and had a joint lease! Not for proof of funds, thats what the option C print out is for. :)

I included some of my husband's bank records (unfortunately in our appeal evidence, not the original application). I'm the Canadian. I don't have a job or any income. My husband is a businessman. It's true you don't need an income to sponsor your spouse, but the visa officer may wonder how you will support yourselves once the two of you are together in Canada. If it seems the couple has no plan for supporting themselves, and they have not discussed this, it really makes it look like a fake marriage; if they have no plan, the visa officer will think it is because they are not planning to stay together anyway.

Our plan is for my husband to continue doing the same business he does in his own country in Canada. I included his bank records as a way to show that he can make a fair amount of money with this business. This shows the visa officer (or in our case, the appeal court judge) that we have discussed our future, we have a plan about how to support ourseslves, and that this plan may actually work, given the amount of money he has made previously.
