Dear members,

Our application being in process of canadian immigration (already sent all documents as per their instructions on AOR) in London office, my question is if we have baby born in US while on visit (b1/b2) or canada on visit, will that create any trouble for us in getting Canadian Immigration including new born baby in (US/Canada), what type of question should we expect in interview? is it wise to do that?

We have applied for canadian immigration from Abu Dhabi as we are resident here,

Please advice.

If you have a baby in the US or Canada, the first thing you need to worry about is are you insured for it and if not, how are you going to pay the bill. A simple hospital delivery can easily cost you $10,000.

If you have a baby in the US, you need to add it to your file so the baby will also get PR when you do. If you have a baby in Canada, the baby will be a Canadian citizen but you should tell CIC about it anyway so they have your family status correct.

It would not really affect your immigration except for it might delay you a bit depending on what stage your application is at and you have to add the baby to your file.

The good thing is that i have insurance that covers pregnancy any where across the globe, so that is why i was thinking to have baby born in US/Canada while on visit provided that doesn't effect my immigration application which is already in process. I am at the second stage of immigration (Already sent all the documents on 3rd April and now waiting for AOR)

Please advice

Good for you.
If you are from a Visa Exempt country, then you should have no problems. Go on holidays to Canada and have the Baby there. You will @ least have a dependent that is already a Canadian even before you get the PPR.
However, If I were you I will weigh all the pros and cons before taking such a step. eg consult an Immigration lawyer and find out what the repercussions could or might be.

In any case, I wish you and your spouse all the best and a healthy "Bouncing Baby".

If you are covered anywhere, you might want to have it in the US. You can give your baby the gift of US and Canada citizenship. US for being born there and then when you add your baby to your immigration application, they will become PR with you and Canadian citizen at the same time as you.

we (me & wife) already has US B1/b2 multientry visa, at this stage she is only three month pregnant so i am thinking to travel to US when she is 7/8 months that is in the month of August or so... I hope there will not be any problem at the immigration counter for her...
