Hi Folks - My parents applied for Canadian visitor visa in March. My mom's visa was approved and stamped in 2 weeks but its been 3 months since that my dad's application is still in progress. What can be done in this scenario? Heard people say that you can contact the MP of your area. Can someone guide me how to do that? My parents would only be visiting together. Thanks

Applied from India. They had prior visitor visa which expired due to passport expiry. Are you able to share what is the best way to contact local MP?
I don't know where you live so you look up the MP for your constituency. Go on the Government of Canada Parliament website.

Yes. The MP may not help you as your parents are not citizens, PRs or in Canada with a work or study permit.
Have you sent a webform first and waited for the reply? That would typically be the first step. Your father is still within normal processing time.
I have. waiting for a reply rn but just thinking of other options that are out there. mostly the webform responses are generic
Most get a generic reply because people are still going through processing. Your father could genuinely just be going through normal processing. The MP typically just passes on the message that you are going through normal processing. Would suggest waiting for the reply of your webform that typically takes a few weeks. After that then would try calling IRCC and asking them to flag your father’s application. If that is not possible or no movement for a few weeks after it has been flagged then would contact your MP.
You said it is under normal processing times so what is normal processing time for visitor visa from india?
As per the recent trends the processing times seem to have reduced. My mother got her approval approx 2 months ago and my dad is still waiting for a decision. I am not sure why it would take that long as both of them had an active visitor visa at the time of application and there has been no change in status for either of them since their last application
