Aussies- QLD traffic history

Hi all,

I need to send a police check and QLD traffic history to CIC ASAP. With the police cert I was able to just put down the Sydney office's address. Can I do that in the traffic history box asking my postal address? Example

Postal address (is different from residential address):

I have one month and it would take more than that to send the app to Aus, wait for it to process and be sent back here (approx 2-3 weeks) then send the history back to Sydney cons. Also, my only forms of Aus ID are a credit card and Medicare card that have expired as I had lived in Canada for over 3 years now, on one page it's says it makes no difference, on the other it states the ID must be valid. Can I just sent a letter with the application to QLD traffic explaining that? In my experience Aus gov likes to eff with me (I've had multiple things get lost, sent back for a mistake on their end, etc). Just wanting this to go smoothly and be done with. Any advice is very appreciated.

Does ANYONE have advice? Most Aussies are asleep now. I read that if I am unable to attain a traffic check I need to go get a stat dec stating that, so the CIC should accept that. I have no valid Category B documents as I've been here for so long. I have always been legal in Canada, last year when my WHP ran out, I left Canada for a few weeks even though I had my LOI the day after my current one ran out.

I can go to a notary this morning if this is the case I just need help! I sent a case specific email back to Syd consulate but have heard nothing and the looming red 'Feb 19' deadline is giving me an anxiety attack. I want to send the requested docs ASAP.

Do you have anyone in AU who can flip it to back to Sydney office? Have the QLD report sent to buddy and have them flip it back to Sydney on the same day.

I was wondering if that is an option? It asks for a residential address and a postal address. Can I put my Canadian address as as residential and my friend's Australian address without being questioned? I do have a friend that is helping me, as last time I had to get these for WHP AFP couldn't process my credit card and I had to resend the whole thing to my friend and get her to get an Aus money order, add to app, send in. If that's possible I will do that, I just don't know how to go about it with the forms?

I also heard that if QLD Transport won't accept my expired ID to process my application I could always get a stat dec stating so? Have you heard of this happening? My friend is calling QLDT today to see if they can answer any of these questions. Meanwhile my looming deadlines ticks away in the back of my mind... :

I'd like to offer more words of advice but I can't say for sure since we didn't have to go through this.

But, I would put your Canadian address as the Residential and your AU buddy as the postal.

Thanks for the advice, it panned out well. It looks like you're a few months ahead of me, I hope it's all going well.

So my friend was able to call QLD Transport and if ID is expired they will accept my Canadian equivalent, as long as everything is certified true copy. And no problem sending it to my friend once it's done! I went and got everything notarized today and mailed it all of to my friend so here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

I've done this a few times & always dealing with QLD transport is a pain is the behind. What I did is i took photo copies of my aussie passport & aussie birth certificate to a notary & got them to certify the photo copies & then sent a money order in AUD to qld transport from canada & they will send you back your traffic history check

I'm from Brisbane, but North Queensland originally.

Every time I've had to get AFP or QLD Transport involved I've had to get a friend in Aus to help me because of the money order. I can get a Canadian one and just get it made out in AUD? That would make life so much easier.

Yeah you can get a money order made out too QLD transport in AUD at most canadian banks i did it at rbc when i sent my residency app

Wow you only just landed! I see your timeline was fast like mine 8 years ago. In fact my timeline was slowed down as I was a former PR of Canada and since I was out of status I had to relinquish my PR status before my second application could proceed. It only added a week or two overall. I first came to Canada in 1995 on a working holiday and I ended up applying for and was granted permanent residence in 1996. I moved back to Australia in 2001. I was here long enough the first time to apply for Canadian citizenship but at that time Australia didn't allow duel citizenship so I didn't. Now I am a Citizen of both as the law changed in Australia on dual citizenship.

Wow! That's quite away from the beaches and the heat of AU!

We were on vacation over Christmas and couldn't answer the visa office as quickly as we could. We might have been able to shave off a few weeks but at this point, I won't quibble over a few weeks. We're glad this major step is over...
