Hi everyone,

I’m currently completing my Express Entry PR application and I’m a bit confused about how to properly reflect my time abroad in the address history, personal history, and travel history sections.

My timeline is roughly the following:

• I’m from Spain and lived there until January 2018.
• In January 2018 I moved to New Zealand on a Working Holiday visa.
• While in New Zealand I lived in different places: Auckland (about 5 months), Hawke’s Bay (about 2 months), and Rotorua (about 2 months).
• After finishing my working holiday, I travelled for about 3 months around New Zealand, Australia, and parts of Asia.
• I then returned to Spain for about 3 months.
And Live & work in Scotland for the next 5 months.

My main questions are:

1. Do I need to create multiple entries in personal history and address history for each country/city where I stayed, or is it acceptable to group some of them in personal history and only detail the countries in travel history?

2. For the time I was travelling for 3 months (NZ, Australia, Asia), how I can reflect this in the address history?

I want to make sure everything is consistent across the three sections and avoid any issues with my application.

Thanks a lot for any advice or examples!

Hello! I understand your panic, I went through this myself. In short, look:

By addresses - write only where you actually lived (rented a house, received mail). Those 2 months in Rotorua - yes, a separate item, if it was not a hostel for a week. But when you’ve been wandering around Asia with a backpack for 3 months, you don’t need addresses. Just write “travelling” in your personal history and then indicate all the countries in your travel history.

Thanks for the advice. In regards to my 3 months backpacking trip after my WHV in New Zealand, what address would you put during that time period? My home address back in Spain or should I keep my last New Zealand address for the whole duration of my travels in Australia and Asia??
