Did you call them ? What’s the response ? Contact CBC news please , this is ridiculous! By the way , were you able to renew your PR card ?
Yes many times and they always had the same standard answer except today I got a different response when I contacted via email. "Your file has been granted citizenship. You will be invited to participate to a citizenship ceremony in the coming weeks or days."

Still nothing says about how many days or weeks as it has already been over 60 weeks since DM :( I think I am not the only one from Ottawa office. There are many others waiting with similar timeline.

Did you have any problems renewing your PR card ? I’m under the impression that once you’re granted citizenship even without oath they may not renew your PR card ? Correct me if I’m wrong.

I did not renew PR card as when I saw DM on file I still had 10 months validity but I never thought it would take that long to be invited for oath. My PR card expired in Jan 21 and now I am not sure whether to wait for oath or apply to renew PR card. :(

I asked agent the same question and she said that if I have travel plans then I can apply for PR card and if I get invited for oath before PR card is renewed then I will have to send request to cancel PR application.

See this is the grand BS those bureaucrats made : your aren’t really a PR and not fully a citizen, you should contact CBC news or globe and mail , voice needs to be heard.

Lol what can CBC do ? Unless everyone files a collective complain to the federal court nothing gonna happen. CBC will have news one day and second day everyone gonna forget . We need to file a petition against cic at the court which nobody will do because everyone scared from ircc. Also none knows how cic is working , even the immigration minister has no power over them . Sit back n relax, enjoy the summer while awaiting your oath . One day you'll get it .

I could be wrong but how long more the delay ? Imagine the backlog 2019, 2020 and now 2021 applications are pouring in. IRCC is turning out to be incompetent and ridiculous. If people sit quet then might as well keep waiting. For IRCC we applicants are sheeps.

I agree with this sentiment. I've personally interacted with a few IRCC officers over phone. Except few, the rest are arrogant and think they are doing a personal favor for immigrants. IRCC has no ombudsman and that is a problem. Even Director General and Minister level officers in IRCC are arrogant.

Coming to day to day stuff, it appears IRCC asked for an increased funding in April 2021 budget to handle the backlog and they didn't get it. Reference here https://jasrajmp.ca/trudeaus-budget-a-letdown-for-canadas-immigration-system/
