August 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

So I am seeing a lot of August 2019 applicants who are waiting for an oath invite. Are there any who are still waiting on a test invite? If so, have you heard from IRCC at all about a timeframe or what to expect? I have not reached out to them yet as my case isn't ''urgent'' per se. My PR doesn't expire until 2022, only my passport expires in May 2021. Nevertheless, I would very much like an update...I'm not sure which office is handling my case, but I applied from KW in Ontario.

Here is my timeline:
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 6, 2019.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on November 8, 2019.
  3. We started processing your application on December 20, 2019.
Side note: I applied in French as it is my first language. I was thinking that maybe applying in French could slow down the process even more?

Any August applicants who haven’t got a test invite yet?
It’s going to be a year now since I sent in my application and I still haven’t received a test invite while most of the August Applicants have already gone past the Oath ceremony!
It’s so frustrating. My passport expires early next year and I don’t know if I should apply for a new passport or hold off... :(

We should be able to ask for a refund of that fee we payed when applying. So basically you can still apply and give them your money, but response from them is so poor, they should waive it for some people at least.
I understand it's pandemic or whatever this is, but country as big as Canada should solve these problems much, much faster.

I am still waiting for test invite. This is the same generic response received from IRCC early July and first week of Aug.

IRCC continues to monitor and assess this changing situation. You will be informed of new dates as soon as possible. Continue to check the IRCC website for any updates.

I am in the same situation! Applied in August and have been 'in process' since December. :( My passport also expires early next year and I have no idea what to do.
