We received UCI in our sponsorship approval email. Did you receive one? If not, it might be worth telephoning to get it. But since I can get in to ecas with my app number F000XXXXXX, then it doesn't make sense you can't. I would ask on the call. BUT it's great you have myCIC, so it may not be worth the trouble of linking to ecas. But you should have your UCI for reference

the thing is that i'm not yet approved as a sponsor, still early for me (see my onside info)
but still i must be able to use eCASE since lot of people did it at the beginning... as you said also,lucky that i'm having MyCic

I was not able to access ECAS until almost a week after sponsor approval. Now that I have access to it, I'm able to login with UCI, Application number, or Receipt number. Some people seemed to get it more quickly than I did, but there's definitely some variability.

yes, it's understandable.
i think it's a bit early for me, i will see what will go on after the receiving of the approval letter

The receipt number starts with R and appears above the barcode on the PDF that you receive when you pay your fees online. It's possible to use that to attempt to log in to ECAS before you have other numbers, but it never worked for me until after sponsor approval.

I expect ours will bump to Background check: in progress almost immediately after.

Sorry to hear your still waiting on Quebec. I'm sure it will be quick once everything is in Hong Kong's hands. Even with requiring the extra criminal record check from my wife, they still got things done quite quickly!
