I sent my application on Aug 11 and CIC received it on Aug 14. It took 82 days from the receipt date to have my AOR (email). My e-cas hasn't been activated till today (109 days & counting...).

I sent my application July 29th. canada post shows received Aug 1. when I called they said AOR email sent Oct 28th which I never got. but still no eCas. does your file number start C0000

Rossei, I guess I am still learning. Could you clarify what is 'ecas activation'? Is it what you see when you log into the CIC portal https://services3.cic.gc.ca

The agent said that there is a problem with all Applications starting with C000XXXX on line access not just me & that I should be able to have the access as soon as they fix it. according to her in the next few weeks. I guess the good news is that she told me that my application is in process.

Generally referred to the updation of user accessible part of GCMS. In simple words; if you are able to login to CIC portal "Check your application status tool", your e-cas is activated, otherwise not. There are many cases like Rossie where the file is actully "In Process" and moving to next stage in background (exactly like others who can "witness" the progress online) but unfortunately nothing is reflected on e-cas.

You may have to wait until January --as per reports here/CIC agents-- to see your status reflected in e-cas. This is due to some incompatibility of new numbering system with present e-cas system. Earlier they said to be fixed by November but as of now it is said to be resolved by January.

If you haven't received your AOR email please make sure email address on file is correct and keep an eye on email junk folders too. If you are using gmail don't worry about junk folder, as it comes straight to inbox but I am not sure about others...

just got off the phone with CI. The lady advised me to send the application again. She advised me that it may have been returned and lost. Any suggestions or recommendations as to what should i do ?

I know IRCANADA is sending his/her again. What about CFBEBE, Torontonion and everybody else? I think we should have a quick chat and discuss what is to be sent. I can share my contact number with with everybody involved.

Just do a specific case inquiry online and you will be fine!

Dont send any new application now. wwait till January!

I second to Ronaldo's suggestion to wait until January to initiate a second application; except if you anticipate return for some reason and have a move/address change.

They have said the exact same crap to me. Im going to send my new application anyways. If my previous one goes in process then the second one becomes invalid anyways. I dont wanna waste more time
I would recommend Zujal to do the same thing.

Why do we have to wait till January anyways if our application is not on the system yet ?? I mean no one knows where it is! I dont think its gonna be picked up somehow and be processed. They agent said they are working in application received on the 21st of Sep. Mine was received on the 15th... I am so damn unlucky and this is really frustrating now . I dont know how the hell CIC works, they are saying they are working on the application from that date, then October applicants already received their AOR and everything!! F this for real

I was told the same exact information they told you. They recieved my application on August first before the vast majority of people here. I was the last one recieving anything.

I was so confused until Donvalley came and advised me to the specific case online. Two days after that, CIC emailed me back confirming that they have my application and it is in process.

If your application is not in the system, does not mean that they do not have it or they are not processing it.

For cic, no one knows how they work amd the whole application dates is just to relax people.

I received the acknowledge letter and the book last Friday. I have a question if somebody from this forum can answer to me. I am a senior, 56 years old. Regarding to the old process, I don't need to write a test. Why they send me the book? Could somebody tell me what is the procedure for seniors after receiving the acknowledged letter? Thanks.
