I'm hoping that I'll have my PPR by the end of January.

I hope you're right! I just noticed that you and I got sponsorship approval on the same day, even though you filed your application a month earlier. I wonder whether this will affect the processing time? My family had the CSQ application in the middle, which took about a month, but I don't know whether this will slow our application or whether it just happens simultaneously while our application continues to advance in the queue (hope it's the latter!). Who knows how it will all play out!

The weirdest thing happened with my application, as well as a few others who applied in August, our apps all got to CIC on the 13th, and the whole month we watched everyone get there AORs/Approvals and for whatever reason it was like our little group just got skipped right over, we were the last people to get our sponsor approvals. Weird.

Anyway, I don't know if that would change the processing for the second stage, I would have to guess not since both of our files were transferred at the same time (well, actually, mine was in Ottawa the whole time, my sponsor approval came from there). We shall see!

It's based on when u originally applied. If u look into Ecas all it mentions is the date application received not sponsorship approved

That makes no sense, but then again nothing makes sense with CIC. haha

Good news. I got AOR from the visa office on Dec. 12 and they requested my passport today! Unfortunately, I can't submit it now since I have international travels for the next month.

Hopefully some good Christmas news! My husband was notified to go and pick up his passport on Thursday, and his home address on ecas has been changed to my canadian address! Praying that this means there's a lovely visa inside his passport! What a wonderful christmas gift that would be!

From what I've heard, if the address updates to the Canadian one then it is indeed an approval, so chances are he will have his COPR when he picks up his passport =D

Just a quick question. I think i was told that after you get stage one aproval for Outland spousal application you can then apply for an open work permit once you receive stage 2? Is this correct or am i taking this the wrong way? I thought for an outland application you couldnt get an open work permit?

U can't get an OWP along with an outland application; only for inland. Whoever told u that was mistaken.

I was told the same by a border officer in Buffalo.
