How many members of this forum currently have active PR applications? I have read somewhere that if an applicants receives ‘pre arrival services’ letter it means the applicant has cleared the eligibility and criminality step of the PR. O hope this is true.

Hi everyone,

I'm an outland applicant and I'm currently applying for the TWP. I have applied in person at VFS in NYC. Does anyone knows if once my TWP is approved IRCC will request my passport to stamp the visa on it? Or the visa will only be stamped at the port of entry and I will just travel with a letter?

I am an outland applicant as well I personally feel its a total waste to apply for TWP. Its been 3 mts now no updates last update was 1 month ago. Still reviewing my application. The very meaning of TWP through AIPP is not fulfilled. The applicant is still stuck without reaching within those 3 mts to apply for PR.

Did you call IRCC about which stage right now your application is?
Eligibility
Criminality
Security
I hope you receive pre arrival and PPR this month.

I wrote one month and half ago through IRCC web form a this is what they replied:
<Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We verified the information you provided and are pleased to inform you that everything appears to be in order with your application for Permanent Residence.
Since it was received on February 11, 2019, it is still within regular processing times.
All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.
While the processing times may vary with each case, we will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible
>.
Thanks.

Hello, I need your advice please I wanted to know if it is better to apply for TWP where it will be better to directly apply for permanent residence? Thank you for your opinions.

Depends upon the wp processing time of the visa office where you will apply.
If you are applying from saudi arabia, qatar,UAE,oman, afghanistan, pakistan, bahrain, kuwait all these applications will be transferred to Abu Dhabi visa office which have processing time of 4-8 months.
If you are applying from some europeon country then processing will be faster,

I'm applying for the TWP because my employer needs me to start working as soon as possible. I will apply for the PR inland. PR can take 4-6 months or even more to be processed. But it's up to you. Both scenarios are possible.

Are you applying TWP as inland or outland applicant ?

@amit1984 Hi how is the progress on your file going on? Did you receive ‘pre arrival letter’ yet? I am asking this because i want to know the average time between ‘pre arrival’ and PPR stage. Because i have read that IRCC only send pre arrival after eligibility and criminality is passed. Then only ‘security’ stage is left which is done by CSIS.
