As a landed immigrant, what should I fill in 9b)Protected person status

I came to Canada via UNHCR and got my PR Confirmation when I landed at the airport.

I was a refugee before coming to Canada via UNHCR and the process took more than 5 years. Was I a protected person? I wasn't protected in anyway.

Can someone help me answer this question.
