Arrive in Canada with approved but expiring PGWP

Hi everyone, my situtation is a bit strange.
I left Canada in 2021 after my masters and applied for PGWP from my home country, got approve and the letter said that the PGWP will be valid until 10/2024.
However, I haven't been to Canada since then due to my family issue.
My question is: Can I go to Canada 5-6 months before the PGWP expires and receive the permit? If questioned by the border agency, can I answer that I need the PGWP to find a job and then apply for another WP when I get a job?

Sure, you can come before the PGWP expires. Note that you'll need to get a valid TRV to return.

If you want another WP then your employer will almost certainly need to go through the LMIA process.
