Arrival after midnight for hotel quarantine

My flight arrives in Toronto at 12:30 am on August 5. Considering the time I’ll spend getting my luggage, going through immigration, getting tested etc. I’ll probably arrive at the hotel around 2 am on the 5th.
My question is: which night would be considered the first for booking the hotel, the 4th or 5th of august? I’m not sure if I should book the hotel from 4-7 or from 5-8.
Any help is appreciated!!

Call the hotel. Most hotels start the "Day" at the check-in time of about 2-3pm. So since you'll need the room to not be occupied the evening of the 4th, it's probably from the 4-7.

It’ll be 4-7 You are arriving late to your hotel. Most check in is 3pm but they allow late check in arrival.

but for the sake of quarantine, it will be 5-8 ( 3days). Safe to book 4-8
